Map Redirect is a Safari Extension designed to replace all map links on a webpage to be opened with the map app of your choice. Options include Apple Maps, Google Maps, HERE WeGo Maps, Bing Maps, and Waze.
Map Redirect will effectively redirect you to the maps app preference you have designated. By selecting "Ask Me," a prompt will seek your input on where to direct the link.
- Compatible with Google Search pages and other webpages, eliminating the need for manual address copying and pasting.
Instructions:
- Download Map Redirect from the App Store.
- Go to Settings -> Safari -> Extensions and activate Map Redirect as a Safari Extension.
- In Safari, search for a location such as "London."
- Select the Context menu (symbolized by "aA") and grant Map Redirect access to the webpage you are viewing.
- The extension requires permission to read and modify web pages to alter map links. If prompted for access, choose one-day access or select "Always Allow."
- In the Map Redirect popup, choose your preferred map app (e.g., Apple Maps).
- Map Redirect will scan the webpage for map links and adjust them to open in Apple Maps.
- Click on any map link.
- Map Redirect will then guide you to the designated location in Apple Maps.
Note:
- Different websites may present map links with varied parameters. Map Redirect endeavors to detect and convert these links to your desired map application, necessitating the extension's access to read and modify web pages. If requested, choose one-day access or "Always Allow."

* HERE WeGo deeplinking is limited to links featuring geo-coordinates.
* On iPhones, Bing Maps will use Apple Maps.
